WHY MUVi?

Why MUVI Disinfection

Eliminates human cleaning error

A key contributing factor to HAIs is human cleaning error. Whether it is due to a lack of resources, time, staff or simply because a surface got missed, human cleaning error will always continue to occur.

To eliminate this problem, MUVi acts as a safeguard clean and will enable rapid human less highly touched surface disinfection system and surfaces and will also look upon surfaces that have been ignored earlier during human cleaning.

UV-C is proven to kill bacteria and viruses

There are different types of UV light. You may be familiar with UV-A, which is known for skin tanning and treating skin disorders such as eczema. Then there is UV-B, which causes skin disease and sunburn.

Then there is UV-C. This type of UV light has the ability to disrupt the DNA structure of bacteria and viruses subsequently preventing it from replicating or further infecting. It kills common healthcare associated infection causes, including C.diff, MRSA, VRE, Acinetobacter and more.

Save costs

Saves hospitals money

If our technology can reduce the rate of HAIs by just 0.5 per cent, we can save the Australian healthcare system approximately $14 million dollars per year. With HAI’s costing the system 2 million bed days per year at $1400 per bed, this is almost a 3 billion dollar a year hospital burden.

There will soon be changes in Australian legislation, similar to the US, which will no longer allow Medicare to pay for patients with HAI’s and for hospitals to bear the costs.

Tailored to the hospital

Our disinfection booth can be tailored to fit the disinfecting needs of the hospital and individual units. From a small wheelchair to a large bed, our custom booths can be made to fit all types of high risk equipment.

Market Leader for no touch clean

A market leader in “no touch” cleans

More hospitals are now moving away from a human only clean, citing its inability to control human error or missed surfaces. MUVi’s technology is seen as one of the most effective, yet cost-effective secondary cleans on the market.

Personalised Consultation

Whether you need a special disinfecting space for ICU to ED to operating theatres, our trained experts will take a look at your environment and advise on the best MUVi disinfecting set-up for your hospital or your ward.

Portable design

MUVi provides its portable disinfection booth and mobile small equipment disinfection, including shadowed areas.

Any surface that is within 4-6 metres from MUVi’s light source, even in open areas such as bathrooms and patient rooms, will be disinfected.

Total Protection

MUVi provides disinfection data and logs on how many disinfection were made, length of each disinfection and dates through a secure system that is cloud-based.
